On Monday I shared a recipe that used breadcrumbs, while it’s an everyday ingredient here in Lagos I realise some folks living outside Lagos might not find the packaged ones so I’ve decided to share with us how to make it at home.
Breadcrumbs can be used in meatballs and to coat chicken or fish. Commercial ones come in plain or Italian flavours, todays own is a simple homemade version, fresh, crisp, quick and easy.
Ingredients : ( 1/2 cup )
2 fresh slices white bread
Toast the bread slightly until the centre is slightly golden brown.
Grate the bread using the smallest part of the grater. If the bread gets soft, microwave it for 2-3 minutes let it cool and it will be crisp again.
Store in a ziploc bag until ready to use.
For best results, store in the freezer.
Azu 🙂 .
